Black as my soul

Alright the epoxy primer did its job and created a good foundation for our roof coating. So went in this past weekend and applied the Monstaliner top coat. Wasn't able to do this one outside like the primer. Had minor showers going on and water contact makes this paint dry and turn hard very quickly. Not a good thing. In any case I have access to a large barn that allowed me to do it inside but with lots of ventilation.

Doing the primer base helped a lot with this last step. The top coat went on as anticipated and yes the smell is as rough with this paint as the primer was. This paint gives the best finish when applied with two coats. Depending on weather, temp, humidity and so forth drying time between coats can be between 2 to 6 hours.

First coat has to be completely tack free before you can finish it up. Took about 4 1/2 hours. The second coat is primarily to catch any small gaps left and to give the textured surface were looking for. *You can see the blue roller in the picture above which is made just for this paint and allows you to get that professional look.

In any case happy with it so far. This paint should keep that glossy wet look and its formulated to resist UV rays. I will try to get a closeup pic of the textured surface. Also yes for those with sharp eyes I did get a couple of drops of paint on the body of the popup itself but of course since were going to paint that part, no biggie.

So next step is the bottom portion. That one is going to be time consuming with taping up all the lights, removing the spare and yada, yada, yada.
